Melbourne Magic Festival

Melbourne’s annual festival of all things magical gets underway in June with some of Australia’s best magicians appearing (and disappearing) at the Northcote Town Hall.

Running until July 10, The Melbourne Magic Festival includes astonishing sleight of hand, cons and scams, hilarious clowning, a magical menagerie of rabbits and doves, and spectacular grand illusions.

Highlights of this year’s program include shows from the stars of Channel Nine’s ‘The Real Hustle’, Nicholas J. Johnson and Adam Mada, Channel Nine’s ‘WBTV’ resident magician Anthony ‘Magic Tony’ DeMasi in three different shows, internationally renowned illusionists Ellis & Webster sawing each other in half, and even some surprise international guests!

Taronga Zoo is the perfect family outing for kids to explore our natural world. The youngsters will be captivated by Australia’s amazing wildlife, can soar above the Zoo on the Sky Safari cable car, hear about creatures great and small at the daily keeper presentations and venture into the world below the seas at Taronga’s newest exhibit, Great Southern Oceans. Melbourne Zoo - baby Pygmy Hippo

Melbourne Zoo is a window on the world's wildlife -- and only 4km from the city centre!

In the African Rainforest, see gorillas, monkeys, and a new arrival -- a Pygmy Hippo calf. The Asian Rainforest is home to the endangered orang-utans, tigers, and Asian Elephants.

You can see Australia's own wonderful wildlife in the Australian Bush exhibit, including koalas, wombats, kangaroos, and echidnas.

Inside the amazing Butterfly House hundreds of colourful tropical butterflies from northern Australia flutter around Zoo visitors, sometimes even sitting on someone's head or hand.

Don't miss the beautiful Snow Leopard cubs!

The Zoo is open daily from 9am to 5pm, plus later on some summer evenings for the Zoo Twilights concert series.

Sydney Wildlife World

Sydney Wildlife World is an interactive attraction featuring world-class displays of Australian animals set in the heart of Sydney on Darling Harbour.

It features nine ecosystems where animal species co-exist from wombats and yellow-footed rock wallabies to blue-tongue lizards and the endangered Gouldian Finch. Visitors are transported to different parts of Australia, lush rainforests or the red sands of Central Australia while meeting the weird and wonderful Australian animals in an  experience they'll never forget.

Together, with its sister attraction Sydney Aquarium (located next door)it is the largest collection of all-Australian animals in the world! Giving visitors the unique and very special experience of being able to meet, pat and feed Australia's terrestrial animals in a day.
